Compensation and Reward Advisor (Up to £40k pro rata)

 

The East Kent HR Partnership (EKHRP) has recently amalgamated the HR teams at Canterbury City Council, Dover District Council, Shepway District Council and Thanet District Council.  Based at Dover, the Partnership now provides an HR, Learning and Development and Health and Safety service to over 2,300 employees across the four authorities, as well as East Kent Housing.

 

The EKHRP is currently supporting the Partners through substantial change and is seeking to recruit a part-time Compensation and Reward Advisor for a fixed term contract of up to six months.  The successful candidate will be someone who is used to a fast paced, demanding environment and who will be able to drive business change forward through Compensation & Benefits.

 
The role will sit within, and work closely with, the HR team and will involve:

·        Leading the design, delivery and implementation phase of a new Performance Management, Remuneration, Reward and Benefits framework that supports Pay for Contribution.

·        Developing and implementing processes and systems for objective setting that improve role clarity and links competencies and personal and organisational objectives.

·        Conducting detailed market benchmarking of salaries and benefit packages
 

Experience Required:

·        Proven project management experience

·        Knowledge and experience of setting up and implementing performance management process/systems in a complex organisation.

·        Experience of setting up a Pay for Performance/Contribution Total Reward scheme

·        Experience with Hay Job Evaluation (or equivalent)

·        Ability to interpret complex data, drawing out key issues and themes and the ability to express these in a clear and concise manner.

·        Experience of working within boundaries imposed by company policies, practices and governance requirements.

·        Upwards of 4 years experience in a Reward/HR environment - ideally gained from both the private and public sector

·        Strong initiative and proven comfort with ambiguity

·        Very strong diagnostic skills and excellent attention to detail

·        Strong consultancy skills and ability to build relationships with a range of HR and business stakeholders.

·        Strong user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
